GennLab Standard Alignment (Calibration) Tapes

Dolby Level 3-3/4 to 30 in/sec 1/4" Reel-to-Reel

Dolby B: 400 Hz 185 nWb/m NAB (TEAC YTT-5001) and 400 Hz 200 nWb/m IEC (TEAC YTT-5001A) tapes are suitable for Dolby Noise Reduction System calibration of consumer reel-to-reel tape recorders to Dolby level. Can be used for internal or external (like TEAC AN-60, AN-80) systems calibration.
All consumer Dolby Noise Reduction Systems have nominally unity gain at 400 Hz and Dolby level +/-0.5 dB. Alignments made with one system will than be correct for all.
The tapes are suitable for Dolby Noise Reduction System calibration of Reel-to-Reel playback portion of cassette duplicators to Dolby level.

Dolby A: 850 Hz 185 nWb/m NAB or 320 nWb/m DIN periodically changed to 930 Hz for 30 milliseconds every 750 milliseconds. The resulting periodic chirp-like sound is highly characteristic. This tape is suitable for professional Dolby A-type Noise Reduction System calibration of professional reel-to-reel tape recorders to Dolby A Level.
All professional Dolby Noise Reduction Systems have nominally unity gain at 850 Hz and Dolby level +/-0.5 dB. Alignments made with one system will than be correct for all.

Dolby SR Spectral Recording: pink noise -15 dB below 185 nWb/m NAB or 320 nWb/m DIN periodically interrupted for 20 milliseconds every 2 seconds. These periodic interruptions (sometimes called"nicks") serve to positively distinguish Dolby Noise from other pink noise. This tape is suitable for professional Dolby SR-type Noise Reduction System calibration of professional reel-to-reel tape recorders to Dolby Noise level. It provides an accurate alignment reference to for the decoder.

One Dolby tone is recorded on each Tape.

Duration of each tape is 4 min.
